Ok, here we go again, the true category: Text & Typography=>Typography=>Calligraphy=> Traditional Work for the most, but that's mixed media.

Jewish art

Final (one of) work of Calligraphy semestrial course I took in Bar Illan University.

In this course we have studied different styles of Hebrew fonts, 6 styles.

Here I used a style of writing named: "כתב רולית", in free translation the Rollit font, Jewish Caligraphy.
(Sorry I could not provide you with the link, i did not find it on google, so one that will find it actually will get a credit, a cookie and a feature- as long as I am subscribed)

Why I used a prayer? Naturally, in that kind of art Jewish people used to write blessings, wedding documents (הכתובה - the ktuba), Magilot, prayers and less happy topics -like deaths. In this concept, using just an everyday text (since I am not religeous), felt kind inappropriate and I had nothing better on my mind. When I seek for the answer, it was the only one I could think of at the time.

Well as you probably can see this is far from being perfect, I have many mistakes of place arrangement, I had some mistakes in the text which I corrected despite the laws of calligraphy -> no corrections if you made a mistake! I just could not leave it like that... Beside I had to finish this and show to the teacher for the grade...
It is my second time ever in trying using this type of writing.
It was hard and I was stressed.

But there is one bonus point for me, I was the only, or almost the only one in the course who tried writing a whole text and not just e sentence.
And I did another work, just in case if this one won't please the teacher and you'll see it right here: [link]

Well, I don't know what grade I have got, but the final one for all of my works (for micrography, these works, the "joy" design and etc.) was 100% (which is good.)

So even though it is not perfect I like that. And I hope, that you like it too. :)

(C) for this work to me.
(C) I am not sure who wrote the actual prayer as we know it nowadays, but I assume that it was somewhere in middle ages.
